Hi, I’m Cassandra Ferguson,

Owner and Instructor at Creative Classroom Art Studio.

This isn’t your typical “arts and crafts” business—it’s a greater reflection of what I believe in as a visual arts educator, and an artist. At Creative Classroom we are here to help foster experimentation, problem solving and imagination that ultimately translates into meaningful artwork created by your students. Our belief is that visual arts education for children and youth can be educational in age-appropriate ways - together we will surpass surface level making and create artwork that is rooted in history, process AND making.

A Bit About Us:

Creative Classroom Art Studio provides hands-on visual arts workshops and educational programming for children and youth ages 2–18, focusing primarily on students in Kindergarten through Grade 8. We travel to schools and educational settings to deliver age-appropriate, hands-on visual arts workshops in mediums such as drawing, painting, printmaking and clay sculpting! Workshops with Creative Classroom serve as an alternative to a typical "field trip" opportunity for your students. Teachers can collect funds from participating students' families just as they would for a regular field trip, the only difference is that we come to the school instead of the class travelling to an off-site location for the experience. No fuss, no additional bussing fees - - our qualified instructor will come to your classroom with all the necessary tools, materials, and supplies needed to complete your chosen workshop activity.

Cassandra has spent the past six years teaching visual arts to children and youth of various ages and abilities in settings including elementary and high school classes within different public and private schools, ASD-specific elementary school classes, Special Education and At-Risk elementary and high school classes, as well as at art-specific schools and institutions, and established art galleries. Cassandra is a passionate educator and was driven to develop Creative Classroom Art Studio to offer students more meaningful learning opportunities that supplement and surpass what is often available within their normal classroom visual arts programming. Creative Classroom Art Studio aims to surpass surface level making by using engaging processes and materials to explore educational and art historical content and themes in age-appropriate ways. It is our belief that art for children and youth can be fun and engaging while also being rooted in historical context. When designing our lessons we maintain a focus on the criteria outlined in the Ontario Educational Curriculum for Visual Arts across various grade levels.
